Annual Health Check

A yearly nose-to-tail examination is the visit where most problems get caught while they are still small, still comfortable and still inexpensive to treat.

In detail

What it is 1 of 3

Roughly forty things checked in fifteen minutes.

A structured examination from nose to tail, plus a conversation about how your pet has actually been at home over the past year.

When you need it 2 of 3

Once a year, and twice for older pets.

Annually for healthy adults. From around seven for dogs and ten for cats we recommend six-monthly, because a year is a long time at that age.

  • Adults — once a year
  • Seniors — every six months
  • Puppies and kittens — through the first-year plan
  • Ongoing conditions — as agreed with your vet
How we approach it 3 of 3

Prevention is cheaper than treatment. Genuinely.

We would rather find a heart murmur, a sore tooth or an early kidney change now than manage a crisis later. You get a written summary either way.

They are usually combined, but the examination is the valuable part. We will do the health check whether or not a vaccination is due.

A note of anything you have noticed, the food you are feeding, and a urine or faecal sample only if we have asked for one.

We may suggest baseline screening for older pets or before an anaesthetic, and will explain why and what it costs.

We explain it, give you the options and the costs, and let you decide. Nothing happens on the day without your agreement.

We don't just care for pets. We care for the people who love them.
